What to expect when you call us for a consult

When you contact us as a potential new client, we have a system that we use. We call it the client intake process. This process guarantees that your case will reach the PERFECT attorney for your DUI or criminal case. Every case is different. Every person is different. We know this.

What to expect with an Intake?

To prepare for your free, no obligation, no cost initial consultation, you should have all of your paperwork ready. You can expect from us professionalism, attention to detail and respect. We will respect your time. We will listen.

Who will I speak with when I call the office?

Step one of finding the perfect DUi and criminal attorney for you: First Contact

When calling The McShane Firm, first, you will speak with our dedicated receptionist who will take some vital information such as your name, what county your case is in, your telephone number, and what type of case you have. We will then place you on a brief hold. You will be transferred to one of our three Intake Support Specialists.

If you used a webform, email, Facebook or scheduled your own intake online, the first person you will speak with is our Intake Support Specialist at the time arranged.

If you call after hours, depending on the seriousness and emergency of the situation, you will either talk with an attorney or we can set up a date and time certain to go over your case with us.

Step two of finding the perfect DUi and criminal attorney for you: The Intake Support Specialist

The entire job of the Intake Support Specialist is to pair you with the perfect DUI or criminal attorney with your specific needs. They will get to know you, not just your case. They will ask about who you are as a person because we care about fighting for a person, not just fighting criminal or DUI charges. The Intake Support Specialists know the personalities of each attorney, their styles and most importantly their strengths and weakness in light of your specific situation.

The Intake Support Specialist will take more detailed information from you. They will ask about any prior police contact, convictions, the facts of your case, details and other important aspects unique to your specific case. Although the Intake Support Specialists are not attorneys, they are highly trained to spot factual and legal issues. So, follow their lead, but don’t be afraid to ask questions.

The Intake Support Specialist is not authorized to give you the cost of representation. They do not go to court and only attorneys can issue quotes at our firm. This makes sure that you pay the minimum amount and get the maximum impact for your hard-earned money.

Details win cases. Lack of details loses cases.

You must be candid, clear and detailed. Don’t be embarrassed. We have heard it all. We have nearly 20 years of dealing with situations worse than yours. Be truthful.

The next step is talking to that perfect DUI and criminal attorney who is paired with your case.

Step three of finding the perfect DUi and criminal attorney for you: Speaking with the Attorney

If you follow our process you are well on your way to finding the perfect DUI and criminal attorney for you.

The attorney will have all of your detailed information. Because you invested the time and energy into the process, we will not waste your time by asking you about what you told us already. The attorney may go over the highlights of your intake that we did together and ask you questions. They will listen, care and start to give you answers to questions. Ask away. No question is too tough.

Step four of finding the perfect DUi and criminal attorney for you: Choosing the Perfect DUI and criminal attorney for you

During the consult with the attorney, the attorney will talk to you about costs and fees. We do nearly everything by flat fee and per event. This way you don’t overpay for representation. This way you know by each event that the maximum fee and the minimum fee is. We do offer payment plans. All quotes are provided in writing. If you agree, you let us know. You pay. You sign a contract. The perfect DUI and criminal attorney for you starts defending you immediately. We will fight for you guaranteed.
