Philosophy
Myranda Shifflett is a criminal defense attorney who believes that every person deserves to be treated fairly, heard, and respected—regardless of the circumstances that brought them into the criminal justice system. She is driven by the principles of due process and equitable justice and understands that, for many individuals, involvement in the criminal justice system can be one of the most difficult and overwhelming periods of their lives./
Her commitment to criminal defense is also rooted in personal experience. Growing up, Myranda witnessed a close family member struggle with both the hardships of the criminal justice system and significant personal challenges. Seeing someone she cared about repeatedly encounter a system that often focused on punishment rather than understanding the person and circumstances behind the situation shaped her perspective and ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in criminal defense.
Myranda believes that people are more than the accusations, mistakes, or difficult circumstances that bring them into the criminal justice system. She approaches each case with compassion, preparation, and determination and is committed to providing individualized attention to every client. Her goal is not only to advocate for the best possible outcome, but also to ensure that her clients are supported throughout the legal process.
Personal Background
Myranda Shifflett is a 2023 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned her B.S. in Criminology, along with minors in Psychological Sciences and Sociology. Her academic background gave furthered her interest not only in the criminal justice system itself, but also in understanding the individuals and circumstances behind every case.
While attending law school, Myranda gained valuable experience through an internship with the York County Public Defender’s Office. She then joined The McShane Firm in 2025 as a law clerk, where she continued to develop her knowledge and experience in criminal defense. Myranda earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University Commonwealth Law School in 2026 and is committed to building a career centered on strong advocacy, due process, and equitable justice for every client.
Outside of her work, Myranda enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing with her two cats, traveling to the beach, watching television shows, and playing video games.
