“I can tell you for a fact that this deliberation to take the commonwealth up on it’s offer was a very hard one for him. It’s his oldest brother and of course the ties of brotherhood are very strong.” – Justin McShane
The brother of accused murderer Ernest Wholaver, has cut a deal with the prosecution. Scott Wholaver agreed to help the prosecution in their case against his brother Ernest. 28 year-old Scott Wholaver pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree murder, in exchange for testimony against his brother.
On Christmas Eve, Scott allegedly drove his brother to the Middletown home of his wife and two children. The next day, the three were found shot to death. Prosecutors say the deal is a fair one. Scott’s attorney says it’s was a tough decision for his client. Justin McShane, “I can tell you for a fact that this deliberation to take the commonwealth up on it’s offer was a very hard one for him. It’s his oldest brother and of course the ties of brotherhood are very strong.” Fran Chardo/Dauphin County DA’s Office, “We wanted an agreement that reflected his role. It was a limited role but there are three people who are dead as a result of some of his actions.”
If Scott Wholaver keeps his end of the deal and testifies against his brother he’ll serve between 12 and a half to 25 years in prison. The alternative could have been life in prison.
For an unfortunate circumstance the experience was incredible. As I was nervous from get go, Michelle and Attorney Hoover took the time to speak to me, listen to me and answer lots of questions.
It hasn’t happened yet, but it looks like he saved my license, career and business which would all fall apart without a license! Attorney Hoover was down to earth. I felt like I was at court with a friend.
I was treated with respect. Not only by Attorney Barrouk, but by all staff I interacted with. I was kept informed and all options [were] thoroughly discussed with me. [Attorney Barrouk] fought to get the best resolution of my case. I did not feel he was “just going through the motions.”
