Areas of Practice
Kaitlyn focuses exclusively on appeals and post-conviction litigation. She uses your case’s errors to fight unfavorable verdicts and investigates post-conviction cases for legal error, ineffective assistance of counsel, and/or prosecutorial and judicial misconduct.
Kaitlyn believes in the phrase “latius est impunitum relinqui facinus nocentis quam innocentem damnari.” Translated as “it is better to let the crime of the guilty go unpunished than to condemn the innocent.” Kaitlyn stands by this proposition and it drives her to find any reason to undermine a conviction. She will spend countless hours digging through your case to find where the court committed error. Kaitlyn then turns those errors into strong legal arguments for the benefits of her clients. Her passion is fighting for those who have no one else to fight for them.
Kaitlyn earned her Associates Degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College within a year after graduating from high school. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
After leaving Temple, Kaitlyn attended Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg. She started here at The McShane Firm as a law clerk and she participated in Widener’s Civil Law Clinic while in law school. She received CALI awards in two classes for earning the highest grade in her class.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her three rescued cats, Penelope, Pumpkin, and Purrl. On weekends, you can often find her watching football and Formula 1.
