Dana K. Booker was born and raised in Massachusetts. Ms. Booker graduated cum laude from Temple University in 2004, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English, a writing certification, and an honors certificate. Ms. Booker worked her way through college, while still maintaining excellent grades and contributing significantly to student life at Temple. At Temple University Ms. Booker served on Temple Towers dormitory Judicial Board, University Honors Council, and Temple University Student Government. After completing a semester-long training class, Ms. Booker was accepted as a Temple University Writing Associate, and worked as a teacher’s assistant for freshman level English courses. Ms. Booker Co-Founded and served as the Art Editor of Temple University’s English Majors Association Magazine, Effusion. While at Temple University, Ms. Booker was very active in community service, working with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Project S.H.I.N.E., and Project H.O.M.E. In addition, Ms. Booker worked for the number one ranked Trial Advocacy program at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law as a witness for Mock Trial. Ms. Booker was also a member of Golden Key International Honor Society. Ms. Booker is a graduate of Amherst Regional High School in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Ms. Booker received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in May 2009. Ms. Booker represented the University of Pennsylvania Law School at the National Minority Law Student Leadership Summit in 2005. She also was a member of the Black Law Students Association. Ms. Booker has an extensive background in legal services, and has been working in the legal profession since 2003.
She worked as a file clerk for Goldberg, Miller & Rubin, PC, in Philadelphia for a semester, and then worked as a legal secretary and office assistant for Dorothy K. Phillips & Associates, LLC. During the summer of 2006, Ms. Booker interned at the Juvenile Law Center in Philadelphia. During the summer of 2007 and the summer of 2008, Ms. Booker was a summer associate at Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen, LLP, where she rotated through the Intellectual Property, Real Estate, and Litigation departments. While at Wolf Block, Ms. Booker drafted Memoranda for the Anti-Defamation league regarding the topic of free speech in schools on T-Shirts, banners, and other forms of ‘visual’ speech, and also participated in a pro-bono wills clinic. Ms. Booker also had the opportunity to assist the former Attorney General of the State of Delaware, Charles M. Oberly, III, on a pro bono criminal defense case in Delaware.
Ms. Booker has relocated from Philadelphia to join our firm, and is happy to assist you in any legal matter. Ms. Booker firmly believes a quote she remembers hearing from Roland M. Williams, Jr , the Professor for whom she wrote her senior thesis at Temple University: “Never give up. Every stumbling block may just be a stepping stone to success.”
